Anyone who has been in school knows that you have to write a thesis at least once, and have felt the undeniable fear that you will not conquer this task. This is the one of the many points in our lives that we must face and not only do well but with utter confidence. We have to know going in that it will not be done lightly or easily for many and especially those who lack organizational skills.

When it comes to writing your thesis if you will look at it in pieces and not a whole the task becomes less overwhelming and easier to complete. So to write a great thesis you need to remember to break it down in pieces and start small. When you get to the end of it you will know that you did it well, and that you have completed the most satisfying experience of your time at school all in one paper.

Now it is time to begin your organization. The first step is to describe your thesis. This contains only the main title, sub titles, and figure titles. You can put some of your comments and notes where you need to put them. This paper outline gives you an idea of how your paper will read when completed. Once this is done, you will see that your work is easier when it is organized.

The best approach is probably to get the simple things done first. Try getting the easier tasks out of the way. The Material and Method area of the thesis is most likely the easiest part of the paper so sit down and try to finish it all in one sitting.

Once you have completed your Methods and Materials section out of the way you can make a list of all the things you will need to use for your thesis. Imagine you are making a oral presentation and keep all your figures in order as you imagine your presentation. Once this is accomplished, make small notes and keywords in the same order as you explained your figures. Then you have made the framework to outline the sections. You can, and it is advised that you run your outline ideas past your advisor who can supply valuable opinions and thoughts.

Now you need to organize all of your work if you have not already done so. It does not matter how much information you have or how good it is, if you do not have it laid out properly you cannot get the job done. As you work on your thesis you will also find that it is best to save each chapter as you go separately. Saving each chapter separately will make working on them and reorganizing an easier task. You will want to have the chapter outline, notes and titles in the same file as that specific chapter. This will keep the information easier to access. Once you have each one separated make a backup copy and store it someplace such as a disk or email. This will provide multiple copies for to access at any given time.

You now have everything you need to make a successful paper. You simply have to make it look like a real thesis report. A successful paper has the following sections to it: A title page, list of contents, abstract, introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion and finally the conclusion.

You have now come to last and most important part of a good thesis and that is the editing and revising it. You have to write a well informed and easy to follow paper that has all the facts and information correct. You need to make sure your grammar is correct, that the style flows and that you have reread it for any mistakes. To help ensure that you have a great thesis have some others who know about your field and that have experience in it read it through for you.
