If possible you can work at the hostel where you are staying that usually entails manning the office or cleaning the rooms and facilities, or find work at restaurants, cafes and diners that usually opens late at night. The skilled independent visa gives the applicant the right to live and work in Australia as a permanent resident, without any restrictions. This visa doesn t require any family or government sponsorship or any kind of employment offer. So, applicants who wish to immigrate using this visa must have an occupation which features on the Skilled Occupation List and reach 120 points on the visa assessment.

People coming to live and work in Australia as a migrant are regarded as permanent residents and they have the same work rights as any Australian resident. But keep in mind that there are no rights to work if you are traveling to Australia on a visitor visa. Well some working holiday program offer a chance to some young people for incidental work as a part of their travel.
