La Boqueria in Barcelona Is A multi-visit destination

This very well known and one of the oldest markets of Europe is a multi-visit destination in Barcelona that can make you experience overflowing stalls of vegetables, fruits, breads and cases of fish and meat. It can be a true pleasure to eat in the famous market's tapas bars and spend afternoon in the winding and crowded aisles.

It's easy to get to the Boqueria. It is just located half the way down to La Rambla. The Boqueria sits astride the area between El Raval and the Barri Gotic. The look of crowds that are flocking inside the market's arching steel entry gate is simply awesome. You can take the metro train route L3 Liceu. Alternatively you can also catch any line to Catalunya.

You will find an age old stalls that sells legs of jamon, just outside the entry gate to La Boqueria. These shops are famous for selling scrumptious cured meat that includes leg-hoof. La Boqueria is also famous for freshly squeezed juices that are sold in plastic cups that have lids red and entry to straw. What are these juices is must-have and they're known to fortify you while you are taking a stroll through Boqueria's market. The juice will cost you around €2.50 and they come in endless varieties including the flavors of kiwi and mango.

As you reach the fish area, you'll find unprecedented crowd and you may need to be careful while stepping your feet. But that does not mean that you cannot admire the great selections of fishes including shellfish and other Mediterranean varieties. You can also buy some for yourself and ask the skillful storeowners to prepare it for you in and exotic way. These skillful cooks will also aid by deboning the fish and cutting off its head.

Don't take out time to have a plate of tapas which are quite famous in La Boqueria. Tapas bar here is offer an enticing selection of plates that is prepared using ingredients that are drawn from this market itself. The best places to have tapas are Pinotxo Bar and El Quim de la Boqueria.

It is important that you practice cautiousness as la Boqueria is quite a crowded place and there is always a chance that you will get pick pocketed. Do not keep your wallet in your back pocket and make sure that you zip your purse properly.
