It is that time of year youve been waiting for. Youve got your two weeks leave from work, youre looking good, youre tired and ready for some R and R, and more than that, you deserve some. That beach in distant climes has never seen so close. But how are you going to get to the airport? Very few of us take this factor into account when we are getting all excited about our break away from home. Yet very often we can become more than a little stressed out by the process: it is easy to remember the airport transfer the other side; but on British soil, it somehow seems to slip the mind. We just want to get on that plane! Thankfully there is plenty of choice when it comes to airport transfer in the UK. If you are legging it from Leeds to London, or just hopping from Penarth to Cardiff International Airport a few miles away, you could travel by car, train, bus, in some cases you could probably walk! For those travelling from the capital outwards or transferring across London airports for connecting flights, it is worth paying attention to the proliferation of special coach and bus services which run between airports as well as between cities. There are particularly good connections between Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted Airports. However, if you are going from or through the capital, wander just a few hundred yards down from Buckigham Palace and you will find London Victoria Coach Station. This is one of the main holding points for airport coach services: whether you are heading for Stansted or Scarborough, you should find the right connection. Yet there are other options which span the countrys rails as well as its roads. Most large airports in the UK have a train station: and this can prove a much faster option than the coach. From Liverpool Street there is the Stansted Express; from Paddington the Heathrow Express; and the Gatwick Express from London Victoria (with another route to Gatwick through London Bridge).Whilst most Londoners probably dont want to increase their time spent on this moder of transport, there is another option, you could endure the tube. The Piccadilly line goes all the way to Heathrow; serving all terminals, it usually takes under an hour from central London.Whichever way you go, make sure that you leave sufficient time for that airport transfer: you might be saving money on expensive airport parking, but you may still have to deal with the headache of the M25?or a signal failure somewhere near Hounslow.
