Palace on Wheels - A new travel experience

The luxurious Palace on Wheels journey commences from New Delhi Railway Station and slowly creeps through royal Rajasthan, Agra in Uttar Pradesh and culminates its journey in Delhi after a week long journey. In this we pen down some of the destination covered by the royal Palace on Wheels itinerary.

Day 1: New Delhi- Arrival

Arrive in Delhi. If time permits explore the city. The Palace on Wheels leaves in the evening. Guests are accorded in a traditional warm welcome from the staff of Palace on Wheels. Dinner onboard as you move towards Jaipur.

Day 02: Jaipur

After a hearty breakfast in the morning, proceed for a sightseeing tour of Jaipur. Tour the Hawa Mahal, explore city palace. Lunch at Amber fort. Post lunch visit the Amber fort and enjoy an elephant ride. Dinner at a luxury hotel in Jaipur. Later proceed back to the Palace on Wheels for an overnight journey to Sawai Madhopur.

Day 03: Sawai Madhopur

The Palace on Wheels arrives at Sawai Madhopur early in the morning. On arrival proceed straight to the Ranthambore National Park. Explore the wild creatures of the park. Enjoy a delicious breakfast at Hotel Vinayak.

Halt back to the train, as it moves towards Chittorgarh. The Palace on Wheels arrives at Chittorgarh at around 4 in the evening.

Here you can see Rana Kumbha Palace. Dinner at Panna Hotel. Also enjoy Cultural programme, music and Barbeque at the hotel.

Day 04: Udaipur

As already planned, the Palace on Wheels arrives at Udaipur. In this romantic city of Rajasthan you can tour the Jagmandir, Pichola Lake and Lake Palace, City Palace. You also enjoy a Boat Ride at Lake Pichola.

Day 05: Jaisalmer

On day five, the train reaches the desert's golden city, Jaisalmer. You will visit the Sonar Quila Fort, Jain Temples, Nathmalgi Ke Haveli, Salim Singh Ji Ki Haveli and lots more. Enjoy lunch at Moomal Palace. Also enjoy a camel ride. After Dinner with Barbeque at Samdhan halt back to the Palace on Wheels for the onward journey to Jodhpur.

Day 06: Jodhpur

In Jodhpur, make a visit to the Umaid Bhawan Palace and Mehrangarh Fort. Post lunch return back to the Palace on Wheels train.

Day 07: Bharatpur

As the train reaches Bharatpur, enjoy the Bird safari at Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary. Breakfast served at Bird Sanctuary.

Proceed back to the train for Agra. The Palace on Wheels arrives at Agra. Here witness the UNSECO World heritage site Taj Mahal. Gala Dinner at ITC Mughal Sheraton.

Day 08: Departure Delhi

After breakfast on board, its time bid farewell to Palace on Wheels.
