Dubai is a city offering a myriad of choices to people of all ages and back grounds. A concrete jungle that has unlimited attractions, and a heaven that allows no one to leave with a feeling that they didn't have fun and enjoyed themselves to the fullest. Dubai in reality is one of seven emirates that, together, make up the United Arab Emirates. It is the most up to date of all seven, and has a majority of diverse attraction to offer to any tourist. When in Dubai, your senses will be overloaded with all that's happening. The city is filled with restaurants, beaches, malls, attractions, hotels, and people of all different races. For a little more history, head over to the Dubai Museum, which has a ton of information as well as an extension built under the fort. Jumeirah Mosque is a beautiful mosque and is open to non-Muslims for tours; one of the few mosques that allow that. Shindagha District has many museums and also is the location of the home of the former ruler, Sheikh Rashid Al-Maktoum.
Don't forget to visit the Burj Al-Arab hotel, which is the only seven star hotel in the world and is constructed in the shape of a ship's sail. You need to have a reservation to enter the hotel, and though highly-priced it is well worth the money. The Burj Dubai is one of the tallest structures in the world and even while still under construction, it is worth visiting. The Palm Islands and the World Islands are the world's largest man-made islands, and should be visited just to understand how the city feels about limits. You can take an aerial tour of Dubai with a Seaplane tour when you are in Dubai. There are also infinite water sport opportunities on the beaches, which are beyond your imagination. Desert Safaris also should not be missed, with SUVs taking you over dunes like a roller coaster. This is followed by a sight of the sunset and a traditional meal in the desert. You can also go for skiing in Dubai in its well known skiing centre in the Mall of the Emirates. Wild Wadi is a water park with various kinds of rides and sports available. You can also sail around the Dubai Creek, the original port around which the city developed. Since Dubai is such a modern city with a large variety in population, there is not a lot of local food that can be offered as a large number of tourists will generally be able to find their favourite fast food chain everywhere. Yet, it is suggested that you try a Shawarma, which is meat that is cooked on a skewer and then placed in pita bread with vegetables and dressing. It is not only very cheap, but also available at most corner cafes, mainly in the old city. You might also want to try Hummus, which is a dip made from chickpeas and tastes great when eaten with Pita bread. Falafel is also normally found everywhere. Although Dubai is more liberal than the other emirates, there are still laws as far as alcohol is concerned. It is only available at licensed shops, and is not sold during religious holidays. It is also prohibited to drink alcohol in public places. While visiting Dubai make sure you visit not only the modern shopping malls and beautiful beaches, but also have a view of the culture by visiting old Dubai and eating the local fare. For Luxury Holidays in Dubai try the Ritz Carlton Dubai Hotel
