Dublin is the capital of Ireland in all manners. The English name is derived from the Irish name Dubh Linn, meaning "black pool". The city is situated near the midpoint of Ireland's east coast, at the mouth of the river liffey, and at the centre of the region. The land area is approximately 115 km2. It has a border of low mountain range to south. It has flat farmland inside. Dublin has a very good climate. Mild winters and cool summers attract visitors through out the year. The maximum January temp is 8.3 °C (47 °F) while maximum July temperature is 19.6 °C (67 °F). Average hottest months are May and June. Most rainfalls are during December with 73 mm (3 in) of rain, and the driest month is July with 43 mm (2 in). Rainfall is evenly distributed throughout the year.There are many monuments which are aged more than 100s of years. One among them is Dublin castle. King John of England had founded it in 1204 as a defensive headquarter. One must visit place is the Spire of Dublin, or officially known as "Monument of Light". It is newest monument. Other popular landmarks include the Mansion House, the Anna Livia monument, the Molly Malone statue, St Patrick's Cathedral, Saint Francis Xavier Church and many famous churches, The Custom House. The Poolbeg Towers are also iconic features and are visible in many spots around the city. Another attraction is green land. I cannot resist myself mentioning Phoenix Park, Herbert Park and St Stephen's Green. The park has also the Zoo and Ashtown Castle where sometimes Music concerts are also performed by many singers and musicians.Dublin is full of literary famous figures. George Bernard Shaw, Noble laureates, Samuel Beckett, Oscar Wilde, Jonathan Swift has enriched Dublin with their creativity. The nightlife is unforgettable. It is One of Europe s most youthful cities. Temple Bar is most popular among tourist for night life. Leeson Street, Harcourt Street, South William Street are also famous for night life. Along with historical and contemporary attractions, Ireland government has emphasized on transportation. Road networks are very good so tourists can easily select the option of car rentals with very competitive rates and all good facilities including insurance policy of the travelers. One has to confirm the facilities provided by rental companies before hiring them.
