A highly visited tourist destination, the city of Sigiriya is noted all over the world for its spectacular beauty. It is a very impressive complex that features fountains and boulder gardens with the Lion Rock” and the paintings on the rock face being the major highlights of the place. The city of Anuradhapura was the first capital of Sri Lanka and is replete with majestic and interesting attractions and sites. The city features beautiful dagobas, ponds, palaces and temples. The Ruwanweli Dagoba built by King Dutugamunu is perhaps the most famous off all dagobas in Anuradhapura.

Polonnaruwa was the second capital of Sri Lanka after Anuradhapura. The city of Polonnaruwa is known among vacationers for its remarkable ancient ruins. Gal Viharaya with its multiple rock statues of Lord Buddha is the most well-known site in the ancient city.

Golden Temple of Dambulla is the largest cave-temple complex in Sri Lanka. It boasts of multiple caves where one can find a number of statues of Lord Buddha. Statues of different kings of different eras can also found at the Golden Temple of Dambulla.
