One of Nepal's fascinating place to visit is Namche Bazaar, the Sherpa town which lies at start of all Everest treks and which is the mountainous Khumbu Region's unofficial capital. Nepal is a country of many wonders and one of them is the Ram Mandir Temple in the city of Janakpur. This temple is more properly known as the Ram and Sita Bibaha Mandir and it has the honour of being the oldest temple in the city. The temple was built by a Gurkhali soldier named Amar Singh Thapa and legend has it that he started construction on the very spot where Ram and Sita were married.

The Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park lies just 12km away from the centre of Kathmandu, the Nepalese capital. This scenic park is 159sq.km., is a mixture of both subtropical and temperate climate zones and is also a meeting place for many trekking routes. It is situated within easy driving distance of the Kathmandu Valley and daytrips to the park are readily arranged.

But if Nepal trekking is what most tourists want to do, they cannot help but be impressed with the Solukhumbu Cultural Trek. The Solukhumbu District is part of the Sagamartha Zone, which means that this whole region lies in the shadow of Everest. Highlights of this trek through Nepal's snowy highlands include an exploration of the indigenous Basa culture as well as side trips to the mysterious trio of monasteries known as Tengbouche, Pangbouche and Dibuche.
