Choosing one of the tranquil Trang hotels is simple and one can find a wide variety of appropriate accommodation that hold the magic of having a relatively crowd free and peaceful vacation. Trang province is an unspoiled gem lying on the coast in the warm Andaman waters in Southern Thailand with Satun, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung and Krabi as its neighboring provinces.

With lush surroundings and fertile land, Trang is watered by the Palian River from the Banthat mountain range while Trang River flows through the province from the Khao Luang mountain range.

The landscape has miles and miles of isolated coastline with vast tracts of golden beaches and brilliant turquoise water lapping at the edges. Magnificent outcrops of rocky limestone loom majestically over the diverse marine life to be found in these waters.

Travelers can choose to visit the mainland beaches or travel to the lovely verdant islands dotting the seas around Trang. The breathtaking 'Emerald Cave is set on one such isle called Koh Muk. The cave can only be accessed through a covered tunnel and one proceeds in the darkness to suddenly emerge onto an emerald green lagoon cupped within an outcropping of rocks.

Koh Kradan is the site for the Underwater Wedding festival. This takes place annually around Valentine s Day. The couples who sign up for an Underwater Wedding are welcomed at the airport in the traditional Thai fashion, taken around town in a bridal procession and then on a long tail boat ride to Koh Kradan. After a short wedding ceremony on the beach, the couples dive under water to sign marriage certificates.

The islands are ideal bases for diving and snorkeling activity due to many reefs tucked in and around them. For bird enthusiasts, a visit to the Koh Libong Island is a must. Declared a sanctuary, this is Trang s largest island and home to many native and migratory birds. It is also an ideal location to view an ever-diminishing population of dugongs.

Trang town is often used as a base to travel to the islands. But stop here and look around to discover the remnants of an ancient sea port that has retained much of its old world charm. Relax and sip a Kopi at a local restaurant and enjoy the cuisine which reflects the mixed population of the area.

One can avail of everything from princely luxurious accommodation to comfortable hotels. Many festivals and events have been organized to encourage tourism traffic during off season.
