Costa Brava natural beauty and beaches
Costa in Spanish means coast. Costa Brava is a coastal region in Spain and is well known as a tourist spot. The combination of excellent summer climate, natural beauty and beaches attracts tourists here. Comfortable hotels and villas are also available here to support tourism.

Dali Theatre-Museum, located in Figueres, gives a description of the work of Salvador Dali who was well known in the field of Surrealism. It is known to be the largest museum for surrealist objects. The museum not only has the masterpieces made by Salvador Dali but also contains work that depicts the life of this great painter. Visiting this museum helps in experiencing the world of Surrealism and that of Salvador Dali.
Greek ruins of Empuries is an important archaeological site of Spain, giving insights into the Greek culture. The site contains ruins of the Greek settlement that age back to 5th century A.D. Historical pieces of Greek sculpture made of ceramic and bronze can be found here.
Santa María Monastery in Ripoll (monastery)dates back to the 9th century and was considered to be one of the most important centres of Europe s culture. The most beautiful thing about this monastery is its construction. The front façade is divided into seven horizontal strips where historical, allegorical and biblical drawings are depicted. The monastery also contains the tombs of several counts and also the tomb of the founder of the monastery.
San Juan de la Abadesas Monastery (another monastery) dates back to the year 887 and was of Benedictine origin; however after the 11th century the monastery became Romanesque. The architecture of the monastery is worth noticing.
Costa Brava also two nature reserves.
La Garrotxa Volcanica Area is a nature reserve consisting of forests rich in vegetation. Oak and beech trees are found here along with a rich fauna. Wild cats, boars, vipers, tawny owls, woodpeckers are found here. The area also has volcanic craters and cones and is considered to be a leading volcanic area.
Cap de Creus nature reserve covers area in both land and sea; for this reason the vegetation here has a marine influence on it. Variety of trees can be found here like elms, ash, oak, willows, hazel and many more. The reserve here is better known for the large number of sea species living here including the large number of sea birds.
There are also many beaches where you can spent and enjoy your day at sea.
San Antonio beach and Lloret de Mar beach are the popular beaches in Costa Brava. They are well surrounded with bars and restaurants.
Lloret de Mar beach has a length of about 2000 m whereas San Antonio beach is divided into three bays with breakwaters separating them.
