Does your iphone need a repair? Here's where you begin

Article Written By: stevemckarmik

Add Your Picture Apple had a lot of exciting stuff lined up last year including a Touch Screen computer (ipad). A little over 10 Million iphones were released. Who will repair all these phones? The obvious answer would be: 'An Apple Store'. Whereas a bit of careful thought will really show how complex repairing an iphone can be. After a huge investment into a much publicized 'dataphone', an iphone can fall short in your expectations.

Apple Company offers a cover of 1 calendar year warranty on the iphone from the date of purchase. Although this warranty covers some vital repairs and replacements, it does not include so many other important replacements like the Touch screen. In case of a dysfunctional touch screen, a replacement is possible. But in case of a damaged (broken, dented, crushed) touchscreen, it does not extend any warranty or replacement.

Here are some situations in which the company does not pay for your iphone repair:

Firstly, as already said, Apple does not pay for any repairs that might have been caused by accidental damages (resulting in physical or internal injury to the phone).

Secondly, in case of unauthorized upgrades or additions it does not cover for any warranty. Due to the limited software options and compatibility, many owners choose to add technical upgrades or software, therefore rendering it ineligible for a warranty. In most cases these modifications have nothing to do with the glitch in your iphone. But it is still out of its warranty if it's been "tampered" with.

In case of a replacement, the Apple company prices the spares of iphones at exorbitant prices. Individual prices of parts such as the touchScreen are priced very high. And for those phones that are not under warranty, the brunt of high prices falls even hard on the owner's pocket. Other iphone services undercut the repair costs by trying to repair a dysfunctional part rather than replacing it.

This not only lessens the burden on the iphone users but also is an environment friendly venture. With overpricing the Touch Screen (and it's not being covered under warranty), the users are concerned about going to a store for the repairs.

Then, where would be the next best stop to get the iphone running again? Users must consider looking at so many other choices that are available now. There are other repair services that have geared up themselves for highly cost effective solutions.
