Hickory Hills Golf Club is known for its beautiful golf course architecture. It was dedication in May 1979 and the course was designed by Jack Kidwell with a vision to make a "Golf Club for Golfers." Originally 181 acres of open meadows and aged woodland, Hickory Hills Golf Club has five lakes, a number of meandering streams, and rolling terrain. The 18-hole course of Hickory Hills has a rating of 73.1 and a slope rating of 133. In fact, the course of this Columbus golf course is so designed that from the very beginning the player face a test at this club. There are some good par five holes and a few of them include a lake off the tee. And their number 18 is considered to be one of the finest holes of Central Ohio. In fact Hickory Hills Golf Club won the award of America's Best Public-Access Courses” by Golfweek Magazine for two consecutive years in 2005 and 2006.

Jefferson Golf and Country Club is known as the ultimate luxury country club in the community. Covering 372 acre reserve in the picturesque Jefferson Township, this golf course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. The private golf course was opened for play 1992. Jefferson Country Club is believed to be one of the most unique and challenging courses created by Jones. Its aesthetic fairways have been designed to keep in harmony with the property s existing environment, which is a typical Jones trademark.

The diversity of the Jefferson Golf and Country Club s front and back nine holes is one of the distinct characteristics of the course. The front nine, i.e. the Heathland boasts of undulating mounds with sweeping fescue grasses will remind one of the old Scottish links golf. The Woodland, i.e. the back nine was designed as a traditional American-style course and has rolling terrain and dense woods. The course rating this private golf course is 73.9 and the slope rating is 133 on bent-grass. Jefferson Country Club also offers a golf academy that has some of the best golf instructors of the area.

Oakhurst Country Club, another Jack Kidwell course of the area that was designed co-exists with the natural terrain of the area. This is one of the premier private golf courses of Columbus which was built in 1959. With its water hazards, narrow fairways and small-sloped greens Oakhurst Country Club offers one of the most challenging courses in central Ohio. It has a course rating of 72.3 and a slope rating of 127. This is a soft spike only club and maintains a proper dress code.
