When you are planning a wedding it can sometimes feel like there are ten thousand things that you need to do in order to make sure that the ceremony and reception go off without a hitch. The reason for this feeling is simple: it's because there are ten thousands things that you need to do. Some of the stuff is small (like figuring out the shape of the salt and pepper shakers that will be on the reception tables), while some of them are big (where are you going to have the ceremony and reception anyways?), but all of it needs to get taken care of sooner rather than later to make sure that you have a wedding day that goes smoothly. With that said, sometimes the needs of the groom aren't focused on as much as the need's of the bride. For example: while a lot is made of the brides wedding ring, you aren't going to find as much attention put towards finding the right men's wedding band for the groom. Of course, it's the bride's day, but it doesn't mean that the groom has to settle for a subpar wedding band. It also doesn't mean that they have to go with the usual designs that are out there as well. The reason that most men in the past went with simple gold and silver wedding bands is because, well, that was really all that was out there. It wasn't until the last decade or so that alternative metals started making an impact on the market. Now, there are as many mens titanium wedding bands, men's palladium bands, and tungsten bands as there are simple gold and silver options. So why should you consider one of these alternative metals for your wedding band? Not only are they much cheaper than gold (have you looked at the market lately?), but they also have a style that is all their own. Men who go with alternative metals like palladium, titanium and tungsten tend to love the "industrial" style that the metals have; they give off a certain "edge" that you just can't get with gold and silver materials. If you would like to mix some of the old with the new, there are plenty of rings out there that feature the alternative metals mixed with gold or silver, as well as inlaid with diamonds and other gems. You can find a lot more information on just what is out there by looking online.
