Discovering How My Marriage Can Survive Financial Truble

For most relationships, the number one cause of trouble is and always has been money. A couple s finances can lead to arguments or even separation and in these trying times, one can expect financial related arguments and debates to be a commonplace. So the question most couples are asking is how their marriage can survive through financial issues.

The most important part of any marriage is communication. You need to talk with one another. Many disputes arise simply because one person fails to discuss a purchase with another. Make sure you and your spouse are communicating with each other and that you both know and understand what the situation is and what needs to be done to make it through.

Communicating means nothing though if one is not listening; do not simply shrug off your spouse or pretend to be listening because you are bored or preoccupied. Engage your spouse in the conversation and share ideas as to the best ways to handle the financial situation. If you do not listen, you never know what important thing you may miss and come to regret later on.

You will need to be flexible. The easiest solution to any dispute is obviously compromise and without flexibility there can be no compromising. Sure you are adamant about making that particular purchase, but if you do will it lead to trouble. What if you could compromise with your spouse and get it later to make sure you have all of your needs met today.

Do not forget to breathe. Yelling will get you no where and the situation itself can be quite stressful to begin with. Proper breathing has been shown to reduce one s stress levels and help them to stay focused on the situation at hand. You must be calm and peaceful if you are to talk to your spouse about the situation and come up with solutions and compromises.

While your finances may be tight, letting your marriage slip apart is not the answer. If anything, now is the time to spend more time together with one another. Try to set aside some funds to make sure you can have that quiet family time together so you can get closer as a family rather then be separated even more by arguments and disputes.

Last but not least, you also need to make sure to develop a Plan B for everything. Getting through a financial situation means coming up with clean and clear plans so that everyone has their basic needs fulfilled. But as always, nothing will ever go according to plan so make sure you have a backup on standby just incase.
