Making Up With An Ex

You might be searching for possible ways of making up with an ex if you have broken up recently. This is totally normal and appropriate in some situations. Getting started can sometimes be tough though. Most adults have experienced the pain of breaking up with a partner. One approach some people take is playing the role of a victim, but this is really quite useless. Forget about considering this as an option and commit yourself to either getting over the relationship or doing what it takes to get the relationship back.
There are many times when a relationship can be put back together if both partners are willing to make some adjustments. Unless something really terrible happened, your ex probably still has feelings for you on some level. Following the proper steps is essential though if you want to get the relationship back again.
Everyone makes mistakes and part of making up with someone is recognizing the mistakes that were made before the break up happened. Take a close look at what really happened without trying to lay blame on anyone. The key is to avoid making the same mistakes again.
Saying that the relationship was not working is not specific enough. You must consider whether a single even caused the split or if a series of behaviors made your ex lose interest in you. You should focus on yourself at this point because pointing out the faults of the other person will definitely not win them back.
After you have figured out what went bad in your relationship, take a look at yourself from the point of view of your ex. Even if the pain is great, you must avoid taking the victim role. You may be surprised at how inclined you are to take on that part. Going back to a relationship as the andquot;weak oneandquot; who needs saving is not a good idea. Let your ex know that you still have feelings for them, but that you are strong and doing just fine on your own. Strength and confidence is much more appealing than weakness.
Plotting revenge or using jealousy as a weapon should never even be considered as an option. Both of these approaches are very counterproductive and shallow. If you are hoping to make up with your ex, either of these approaches could wipe out any chance of reconciliation and convince the other person that they did the right thing by getting away from you.
Your ex will be impressed by a show of strength and confidence on your part. This does not mean cocky indifference, but it does mean not acting like a victim. While playing just a little bit hard to get, show that you are doing fine and that you can act like an adult about the situation. Your ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend might just be impressed and start wondering how they missed that trait about you in the first place.
