I clearly remember the era when I was a young kidandhellip;I was really active, I rarely lingered in one place for more than a few seconds, except when I slept or ate. I was constantly running around the hall or in the yard. When I wanted to go somewhere, I never walked, I always ran. And if my friends were with me, we were always racing each other to the finishI was even more energetic. I had blond hair (which after a while turned brown, and I hated it the moment I discovered I was not blond anymore), I was little in height and my friends said that I resembled Jon Bon Jovi (Iandrsquo;m sure you have heard of him).Everybody loved me, and I loved them all, but what I liked most of all were my toys. And I had a great number of toys, due to the fact that Dad had to travel out of the country really often because he was an important architect, and he oftentimes brought a toy or two when he came back home. I had an impressive collection of plastic cowboys and Indians which I used to play with in my little tree house. Not to forget the fact that I had many types of sports balls, from handball balls to kids' bowling and soccer balls. My friends often came to my place for this reason and played with my toys for hours. I had all kinds of games, toy cranes, toy cars, toy television sets. Of course, they were all fake, and you could only play pretend with the phone, cars and television sets. But we had tons of fun with those things, for in those times the toys were only supposed to look like real things, they were not made to actually function. After 30 years, I am a happy 40 year-old man now, and I have an 8 year-old boy that inherited his dad's awesome looks and blond hair. Yet, things are not the same as they were when I was little. The stuff kids play with these days are incredible. I am amazed about the fact that every toy must be electronic nowadays. Many of the toys I purchased for little David have complex circuits inside, or even software that make the action of playing with a toy really different from what I was used to when I was his age.For instance, the Fisher Price Kid Tough Digital Camera is a thing that I would never have imagined would be possible when I was little. You can snap real photos that afterwords you can store on a computerandrsquo;s hard disk. And itandrsquo;s still just a toy! Itandrsquo;s designed especially for kids less than 12 years of age, and it is unbreakable. You can throw it around the house at will and it wonandrsquo;t break. Oh, how would I have liked to have access to such things a few decades agoandhellip;David loves this Fisher Price camera. He even uses it in the water, making pictures of his mom under the water. Who knows what they will think of next? Maybe when my child will have children of his own, heandrsquo;ll give them toy space shuttles that will actually bring you into the atmosphere and back again, just for fun!
