LEGO Figures and LEGO Themes
LEGO Figures can be the most popular part of collecting LEGO sets to many fans. The LEGO Group first released lego mini figures in 1974 with the difference being the original figures did not have moving arms or legs. There have not been very many changes to the LEGO mini figure over the years. The original did not have movable arms and legs but this was changed in 1978 to the current version.
There are various LEGO themed building block sets that are available with some being much more popular than others. Most of these themes also include LEGO mini figures and usually these figures are the most popular feature of a given play set. The LEGO City people are very popular and are used to recreate every day normal human activities, only in building block toys. There are anything from construction workers, to truck drivers and even suited up business men.
Another great theme is the Star Wars theme. Star Wars building block sets are by the far the most collectible series of themes and the figures included in this series are sometimes very rare and hard to find. This scarcity tends to drive up the price of the more in demand and hard to find LEGO mini figures. Many Star Wars LEGO mini figures can sell for ten dollars or more at different auction sites because of this high demand.
The Star Wars are very easily the most fun to collect of the different themed LEGO figures. There are quite a few LEGO Star Wars figures that are nearly impossible to get your hands on. A great example of this is the LEGO Jango Fett figure. Since Jango Fett is inlcuded in only one Star Wars Set, and that set is discontinued, it is a very hard to find LEGO mini figure. The other reason the LEGO Star Wars figures are in such high demand is because of the overall popularity of the Star Wars films. Everybody loves Star Wars and those who may not care for it have certainly known somebody who does.
The LEGO Harry Potter figures are true to the movies and very fun to play with and collect for LEGO fans of all ages. From villains to Harry Potter himself, there are quite a few Harry Potter figures to choose from and you can never get bored tracking down all of these figures.
