Cell phones have a tendency to have a short battery life, and it is a common experience when the battery dies on you just when you need it the most. Hence for a cell phone, the most important accessories are the cell phone chargers. Life without nicely working chargers would cease to work properly.
All cell phones are sold with the cell phone chargers. These chargers are specific to the cell phone; hence cell phone chargers cannot be interchanged. Sometimes newer models by the same manufacturer will have a newer charger, thereby leading to a lot of electronic waste.
Often we need to buy an extra cell phone charger, either for the office or for travelling or for the car. The variety of cell phone chargers available cater to this market of customers who need extra cell phone chargers. Among the most useful cell phone chargers are the ones that plug into the car. They are very convenient for those who commute long distances every day, since these cell phone chargers use the carandrsquo;s batteries to recharge the cell phones.
Emergency cell phone chargers are a fairly new phenomenon. They run on AA batteries and quickly give you about 20-30 minutes of talk time, enough to tide over an emergency situation. They cost a little more, but if you are a habitual user of cell phones, it is a useful accessory to have. Universal chargers have not yet come into the market, but manufacturers in Europe have reached an agreement to introduce the one-size-fits-all chargers by January 2010. This will provide a lot of convenience for the cell phone users, and will also decrease the amount of electronic waste being generated. In February, cell phone manufacturers pledged to make universal cell phone chargers for all phones by January 2012, thereby guaranteeing the fact that soon we shall not have a suitcase full ofandnbsp; chargers when we travel as a family.
Cell phone chargers are great electricity waste generators. People have a tendency to leave their chargers on, even when the cell phone is fully charged. There is now a concerted effort to make customers realise that they should not leave their cell phone chargers plugged in, when these are not needed. Manufacturers are now giving their chargers a rating, to tabulate the amount of electricity they use. Hence, when you go out to buy new or extra chargers keep a lookout for these ratings, thereby helping to conserve electricity to some extent.
Once universal cell phone chargers become the norm, the choice will become simple, and we shall be able to manage with just one cell phone charger for all our phones and family members.
