How To Tell If Someone Likes You

The easiest way to tell if someone likes you is by simply asking them! Unfortunately many just can't pluck up enough courage to actually ask, which is mainly due to the fear of rejection - unrequited love is a bitter pill to swallow. You may really like someone, but if you are uncertain as to whether they feel the same, then this is when life gets complicated.

So unless you are a confident person, and can ask a person outright if they like you, then you need to learn how to read the signs, which can point to whether your feelings are reciprocated. There is a difference between someone playing hard to get and someone who just plain doesn't like you! To help decipher the difference you need to observe how they act around you, their body language, how they talk to you and how they respond to whatever you say.

For example if when you are talking to the person in question, and they are not paying you any attention or looking at you much , or engage back in conversation, then the chances are that they are simply not interested. You can also test a person's personal space. Everyone has a 'personal space' and when it gets invaded, e.g. someone crosses it, you instinctively move away. However we enjoy being close to those we are attracted to and therefore will make excuses just to get close to that particular person. You can use this as an indication of whether someone likes you or not. If you can get past their 'personal space' and sit or stand close to them without them moving or asking you to step back, then odds are they like you!

If however when you cross into their personal territory they immediately move away, then unfortunately it may mean they're not too keen! You can try this approach several times; as they may just be shy to start with, but if their kneejerk reaction is to move away every time, then it may be time for you to move on.

You can tell if someone likes you because they will flirt with you. This can be through compliments; perhaps they start to compliment you more than usual and as mentioned before they will also find excuses to invade your personal space so they can be near you. They will also engage in conversation with you on a regular basis and are more likely to pay attention, listen and remember what you actually say. They may also get a bit tongue-tied around you too!

Eye contact can be a bit of a giveaway, and as they say 'the eyes are the windows to the soul'.

It is a well known fact that our eyes dilate when we look at someone we are attracted to. This is a great indication which is backed up by the fact that if someone allows you to stand close enough to see if their eyes are dilated in the first place, then the chances are looking good that they like you too!

Everyone has different ways of expressing themselves and these are just the basics of how to tell if someone likes you. With some practise though you'll soon be able to pick up on the signs and the rest...well, is up to you!
