The choices in baby gifts are simply astounding! For those who love to be extravagant there is also plenty to choose from including a computer designed for infants. Baby attire can now be found in a wide array of materials, colours, and designs. Babies can now have it all with the multitude of selections available to parents, relatives, and family friends.

1) Clothing, bedding, and blankets made from organic materials. Nappies, hooded towels, bonnets, bibs, shoes, booties, rompers, cardigan sweaters, and smocks can each be found in 100% organically derived materials including the increasingly popular bamboo.

2) Baby toys including rattles, teething rings, hanging mobiles, musical toys, plush teddy bears, toy bars with bright colourful plastic items such as frogs and puppies for baby to swing at (helps eye-hand coordination), and swings to amuse baby.

3) Baby wipes, diapers, powders, creams, ointments, baby soap and shampoos are all well appreciated baby gifts that are also necessities for that newborn.

4) Furniture such as cribs, dressers, dressing tables, bassinettes, and portable swings make great gifts that parents will appreciate not having to buy themselves.

Everyone who attends a baby shower for a friend, co-worker, or relative knows how much fun there can be for all. The mother to be is the queen for the day and is treated to not only many gifts (for her baby as well as some for herself) and some party favours as well. The typical baby shower includes memorable games such as:

- Name the Baby Items consists of writing down as many items related to babies (diapers, bottles, pacifiers, baby powder, etc.) as possible within a time period (usually 1 to 5 minutes). Who ever names the most items wins and gets a prize.

- Stuff a diaper hamper with disposable diapers and have contestants guess how many it holds. The mom to be wins this one because she gets the prize of that hamper stuffed with diapers, something she'll never have enough of.

- Guess who's baby picture belongs to who. Ask attendees to bring along a baby photo of their own, number them, then put them up on a wall and ask people to guess which pic belongs to which attendee. No real prize here but still fun to see how the others looked as an infant.

- Guess mom's belly size and win a prize! Have each guesser measure out a piece of string and cut to the size they think her "girth" currently is. Then compare them to the actual belly of the mother to be. Who ever made the closest guess wins a prize.

Prizes for each of these games can be really cheap trinkets or maybe nicer choices, depending on the budget of the host. It's all for fun and celebration of the new born.
