Workstations are desks that are most often multi-functional, with one portion of the desk for your computer, another for files and other storage like bookshelves, another for printing, and so on. A workstation is larger than your typical desk to accommodate for your many demands, and workstations can be put together so that people who are in the same department or who need to work together more often than usual will have easy physical access to one another. Workstations will also be of the same colour, design, and style, giving your office the visual appeal of uniformity.

Choose a model that your workers will find useful and efficient to do their everyday business. Ask for their input in what they desire in good office furniture. You will also want to factor in clients: will you have clients walking through the office area? If so, you will want office furniture like workstations and boardroom tables that are stylish, clean, and appealing to the eye.

If the office is opened to your clients, you do not want to pick up the cheapest furniture you can find at a Salvo's, unless you are 100% sure your clients are the kind of people who would not care about appearances. You will also want open plan layouts so that it looks personable to your clients.

A pigeon hole is another great way to organise your office and make it more productive. Rather than have office workers put items randomly on people's desks, have pigeon holes, sometimes known as cubbies or cubby holes, where mail and other small to medium items can be left in. Pigeon holes are large fixtures that can accommodate dozens of workers so that everyone in your office can have their own pigeon hole. If your office grows, you can also buy more units to add onto your existing pigeon hole.

Setting a room aside for a boardroom is also a good idea. It doesn't have to be a fancy executive boardroom, but simply a room where good-looking tables and chairs can be placed for having meetings or meeting with clients.
