Beauty pageants existed for many decades with the most famous one being the Miss America pageant. Although, the amount of viewers that make a point of watching this particular pageant has gotten very low over the years, the overall business of pageants in America is a huge and multi-million dollar business. This article will discuss a few of the various kinds of pageants out there and how many people are making big money from this specific market from the designers of pageant gowns, hair and makeup artists and even the makers of the rhinestone tiaras and rhinestone chokers that are handed out to the winners.

Pageants are going on in all parts of the country but they seem to be most popular in the south where little girls are taught to dress up and be girlie somewhat more than in other parts of the country . There are pageants for newborn babies only a couple of weeks old up to senior pageants where some participated have competed as nonagenarians . People that enter these pageants pay huge entry fees just to compete and then usually a lot more on the outfits and dresses and services they want for pageant day. A lot of people that enjoy pageants have tapped into this niche market and are now in great demand preparing girls for their pageants .

One example of this type of service is designers of gowns and pageant coaches. A great majority of the more competitive girls that do a lot of pageants have a personal coach to help them perform all of the elements well . They help put together a routine in addition to how to walk and even how to bat their eyes at the judges . These coaches charge a lot per hour and they are in high demand by pageant moms . Gown designers also do a steady business creating sequined dresses for the older girls and short fluffy dresses for the younger ones . These dresses typically start at a few thousand dollars each and are typically worn just once for the formal wear portion of the competition .

There are what are known as glitz pageants which seem to be all about making little girls appear a lot older than they are with hair pieces , caked on make-up and spray tans. The hair styles which look like big Texas hair are done by professional hairstyles in addition to the make-up too . Other people have the business of putting on spray tans to the contestants and anothera former dental professional makes what are called Flippers which are fake teeth for the girls who are in the middle of losing their baby teeth . As unusual as it seems, this is the world of high glamour pageants and the people that provide these services are in big demand and are making a ton money at these competitions .

As long as there are pageants going on and the look to win a crown at these pageants is a certain way, there will be pageant moms and dads that will pay to have the best assistance for their daughters to have a shot as taking home the crown.
