You cannot judge your blank DVD on its capacity, as the maximum data that you can write on blank DVD is around 4.3G.B even though it shows the capacity of 4.7G.B. Blank DVD disc has a writing speed. 16X rating is found now on many of the blank DVD, this shows the andldquo;write speedandrdquo; of the disc. This means that your disc will be written in 7 or 10 minutes respectively. Many of the older drives are not able to match up the speed of newer disc. Therefore, write speed can be a confusing subject.

Keep your drive firmware up to date as it is very important in blank DVD recording. So if your drive works well then your disc will also work well. As drive is responsible for andlsquo;write speedandrsquo; of the Blank DVDandrsquo;s therefore, it is better to get it checked without wasting your time on blaming the disc. However, all drives recognize media code, which is contained by every disc in order to burn it. So, if a new media code is released, your drive will not have the info it needs to burn it successfully.

So make your firmware up-to-date and choose perfect blank DVD media to make your important data look more neat and clean. Make use of high quality blank DVDandrsquo;s. As middle range DVD's are ok for general use, never go for cheap blank discs, as price stands nowhere as against quality. Go in for the latest variety of DVD's like the waterproof blank DVD-R media, it is inkjet printable to the focal point.
