Any motorist who causes others to be hurt or killed would be stripped of his or her driver's license for months and would face automatic fines of $200 to $1,000. There are other criminal inplications that could land you in jail for up to a year. Reckless driving kills many people each year and like DUI, it's one traffic violation that the Judges do not scoff at.
