Stone Paving Is Beneficial To Have And Can Be Created To Specific Requirements?
Stone paving provides an attractive and versatile way to pave your outdoor areas and has the additional advantage of being strong and incredible hardwearing. There are many different kinds of stone suitable for paving and this provides a wonderful range of different textures and colours to create beautiful patios, paths and driveways.
There are many benefits to using stone paving around your property. This type of paving is very durable which makes it ideal for areas that see heavy traffic such as steps, pathways and driveways. The colour permanency in stone paving is also excellent and this is because the colours have been formed over thousands of years of geological processes rather than achieved with chemical dyes. It is also easy to clean and repair and actually improves with age, unlike other pavers that can start to look very outdated and shabby after just a short period of time.
Yorkstone is one of the most common types of stone paving in Britain and was widely using in town planning from the 18th century right through to the middle of the 20th century. Yorkstone is sourced from the Pennine quarries of northern England and can be shaped into a number of different sized pavers with different finishes including combed, chiselled and picked. Indian Sandstone is a good alternative to Yorkstone because it is similar in appearance but cheaper per square meter.
Stone paving can be crafted to suit a wide number of different requirements and you can select from a range of different styles, colours and sizes.
With bespoke stone paving you can make sure you get the finish you need for your building project. There are many attractive finishes that can be achieved on stone paving but some of these could disappear after a few years of heavy traffic. As well as aesthetics you will need to consider the practical use of the pavers.
Heavily textured finishes such as punched or chiselled are ideal for areas where additional traction is required but can be too rough for pedestrians and garden furniture. Honed or smooth finishes are much more suitable for pathways and patios where you need flat surfaces for furniture and there is heavy pedestrian traffic.
Although stone paving can be more expensive than concrete alternatives it can offer a number of benefits and can enhance the look of your property.
Stone paving including Indian paving stones are produced to any customer’s unique requirements and give your flooring, inside or out, a great improvement.
