Sealants on the other hand are highly effective when sealing dilapidated joints of various kinds of materials including metal and concrete. It helps to join two ends of metal in a bond that does not allow egress of water especially when being used in a gutter.

Coating is another method that withstands all solar conditions and can protect a roof or any wall from damage by either rain or sunlight. Any coating usually contains a ceramic surface that reflects the sun light instead of absorbing it like other materials do. Furthermore it can be used on both concrete and metal surfaces.

This brings a cooling effect to both the interior and exterior. It also brings a textural feel to the surface thus allowing a person to work on an elevated surface without fear of slipping. Additionally, like many of the pastes used for protective reasons on exposed surfaces, its lining acts as an attractive finish to the place it is applied on.

A sealer on the other hand is used for organic reasons. It permeates the interior of the stone surface it is been rubbed on thus making it resistant to water and other reactions that are caused by weathering. However, it does not alter the appearance of the stone. Overall, the various waterproofing products are used on different parts of a structure including the roof, wall and a balcony.
