If you are looking to increase your homes curb appeal, it is something as simple as focusing on your front door and entryway. This is the first thing that many notice when they pass by or visit your home. A beautiful entry way and a path to your front door can make your the appearance of your home look much different.A coat of paint and a few other ideas can make a nice change in a drab entryway. One thing that I don't agree with is that a front door needs to be some crazy color to stand out. Painting the front door bright red or orange or some crazy green is not necessary. A nice complimentary color to the main color of your house should do just fine. Browns and tans may be a bit boring, but they look just fine on the front door if there are some nice complimentary items to offset it. Just because you don't need the front door to be a bright, obscene color doesn't mean that you can't add some color to the front door.If you are looking to add color to your entrance way then a few plants can do just the trick. Try hanging a basket or potted plant to your entry way and you will be surprised at how much it can change your homes curb appeal. One of the great things about plants in potted or basket plants in your entryway is that you can change them out each season for a whole new look. After you have your plants all set out you can then move onto the hardware of your door. Changing the hardware can not only add a classy look to your entryway, it will also provide you with quailty intruder protection. When you are looking at purchasing new hardware it is important to remember that you want one that is high quailty, therefore you will not want to skimp on the price. As the old saying goes, "You get what you pay for". For some purchases this is not always accurate, but in the case of your door hardware, it is a good rule of thumb to follow. Along with the hardware you may even want to consider upgrading your entry way lights. Most homes have an outside light beside the door. Houses usually have at least one fixture, most homes have one on either side of the door. There are so many different styles and looks to choose from, it could be difficult to make a decision. Another nice thing about these lights is that they are pretty simple to change, the wiring is already done and a few simple steps are needed. Just be sure to disconnect the power before doing any electrical work.
