Things You Should Know Before You Get An Airbrushed Tan

1. The exfoliation process must be done a day prior to your tanning schedule. You can do this at home by using exfoliating body wash or with an over-the-counter exfoliating bath soap. Another old but effective method of exfoliating is using loofah for scrubbing your body and peeling off dead skin. And do not forget to moisturize right after to avoid irritation, rashes, and dryness.

2. When you get that airbrush tan, make sure that you don't use those products that you routinely use daily. These products may affect the tanning products making it difficult for it to penetrate your skin. When this happens, results may not be what you have expected.

3. When you just had your airbrushed tan, don't go to the beach or pool and don't take a long shower. You have to let the product penetrate for 24 hours. However, if you have to go swimming, apply a generous amount of body lotion or body oil to help protect the color from the chlorinated water.

A sunless airbrush tan is a safe and effective way to achieve that healthy, golden glow on your skin. The procedure itself is approved by the American Academy of Dermatology. However, just like any other procedure, if it's not done in the right way or if recommended precautions are not taken before, during and after going through an airbrush tanning session, you may not enjoy the best of that tan you've always wanted.

Remember that this tan isn't a UV protection. So make sure that you apply sun block everyday and re apply when needed.

Applying a generous amount of lotion, aside from the sun block, is also ideal so that you can have that tan longer. Don't use alcohol or make up remover or any exfoliants on your skin because these can dissolve the tanning solution right away.
