There are basically two types of policies that caravan owners are going to be given. Which one the caravan owner qualifies for really depends on which type of caravan the person has, whether it is a touring or static caravan. Those with a touring caravan have the caravan that is towed behind a vehicle down the road. It covers the towing gear that is used to tow the caravan. Those that have touring caravans that are considered twin axle are going to find a harder time with insurance since most insurers will want a separate policy for the coverage of twin axle caravans.A static caravan is one that located in a certain spot on a semi-permanent time. Usually this spot is going to be in campsites or RV parks. The insurance policy for these types of caravans are basically the same as the touring caravan insurance except the person is not going to be have a towing coverage on the static caravan. Both types of caravans are susceptible to damage from high winds, flooding, fires and vandalism. However, if the touring caravan is not loaded correctly, it does have a higher risk of turning over. There are many specific coverages. Such as the coverage in which newer caravans, no matter the type are covered for full replacement if something should happen to them. However, this is usually only offered on those caravans that are around five years or younger in age. For those that tour overseas, then they are need a coverage that extends to these areas. For example European coverage means that even while traveling in Europe, the person has the same set of policies and coverage's in place for added peace of mind. For those that are wanting to lower their insurance, then they need to make sure that it is secure. This means that there should be something such as a wheel clamp, storage center or hitch lock to make it even more safer than before. Some people even install alarms to reap the most security discounts from their policy. One of the newest types of coverage's to hit the market is the public liability coverage which helps in the event a third party is injured. For those that tow there caravan this is a necessity since an accident could happen that injuries a third party. Without the coverage, the person is going to be left with the burden of the bills.
