If your message is more than 160 characters in length you will pay the higher twenty-cent rate.

Send more than one message and they will quickly add up. Especially if you text on a daily basis. Many cell phone plans do not include unlimited text messaging while some may. If your plan happens to fall under the limited category, I would find out what it is. It is much cheaper and quicker for most of us to pick up the phone and place a call rather than send a text.

Bottled water has a mark up of around 4000% while around 40% of it come from tap water. That s correct, the water bottle suppliers actually use city water in order to supply their product. They then take the same water you drink from the faucet and stick in a bottle with a fancy label on it. If you go to a convenience store you will end up paying between $1 and $2 per bottle.

If you drink multiple bottles per day without refilling them, you will quickly spend a small fortune on water. Two dollars per day quickly turns into $620 or more per year. Take your own water, boil it, and then bottle it yourself for consumption after it has cooled down. An extra $620 or more per year can buy you a lot of other more tangible items such as clothing, shoes or even a television set.

Avoid pre cut fruits and vegetables as much as possible. There is also a lot of mark involved in these types of grocery products due to the extra work involved in cutting up fruits and vegetables. You can buy cant elope melons all cut up ready to eat for about four or five dollars.

On the other hand you can buy a whole melon for less than a dollar, go home and cut it up with your own knife and sticking it in some Tupperware or something similar. If you buy the melons already cut you are paying a huge premium for someone to do something that will only exert about 5 minutes of extra energy. The same goes for fruit cups, etc. Buy your own fruit and cut it up and you can enjoy more fruit for less money.

Restaurants tend to make the eater fatter and the restaurant owner richer. There is a huge markup involved with eating out. You can save a lot more money buy taking a sandwich to work as opposed to going to the Chinese buffet down the road. Ten dollars a day for lunch can quickly add up to $400 a month and whopping $4800 a year.

That does not include all the in between pizza dinners and other food establishments that you spend money at other than at lunch time. Cook your self several meals over the weekend and package them for lunch on different days. This will not only save you money, it will also keep you fit. For the most part, restaurant food can be very fattening. Especially, Chinese style buffets and fast food joints.

Follow these tips and you will save money day in and day out. Continue with old spending habits and you will not make much progress if you are trying to budget your self better. You can then take this money and use it for savings or even buy something this is more tangible. Perhaps you need a new car. If you follow the above rules you can probably save enough money monthly to make the car payment.
