Avoid Hot Dogs With A Kennel Shade Cover
Summertime, and the living's easy. For those of us in air-conditioned comfort, maybe. But for all of those dogs that are suffering in kennels without adequate shade, life in the summertime is anything but easy.
As a pet owner, you have an obligation to provide a good quality of life for your dog. That includes the time spent outdoors. If you keep your dog in an outdoor kennel, you must provide shade with a kennel cover.
Finding and installing a dog kennel shade cover is a simple process, and it doesn't need to be expensive. Even the most basic dog kennel shade cover can provide the degree of protection your pet needs, at a price you can afford.
Protect every kennel on your property with a proper shade cover. These will protect your pets, keeping them cool in summer and providing necessary shelter when the weather turns foul. Severe weather, heavy winds and extended periods of rain and snow can be very harmful and terrifying to your dog. It's essential that you find the right dog kennel shade cover to keep your pet safe and healthy, in all types of weather.
Don't Cut Corners
Wondering why you should buy a shade cover, when you can just throw a tarp over the dog kennel? It's just not going to provide the protection your pet needs. A plain tarp might be able to keep the sun out, but the material will not be able to withstand everything nature has to offer. A regular tarp can tear and break down over time, leaving your pet exposed to snow and driving rain. Further, tarps do nothing to deflect the sunlight, and can even increase the temperature of the kennel area.
Don't settle for a plain tarp, with a proper dog kennel shade cover only costs a few dollars more. A proper shade cover will attach to the dog kennel at a slanted angle, so you can be sure than any rain, snow and melting ice will fall to the ground and no pool on top. Pooling water will cause the cover to collapse, and can harm your pet.
Keep it Tight
After you've installed the kennel shade cover, take the time to check that it's securely tightened and properly installed, before your pet goes into the kennel. If the cover is insecure it can blow away in high winds, exposing your dog to the elements and prone to injury from heavy rain, sleet or snow.
Size Up the Situation
You can find dog kennel shade covers in a variety of sizes. Most commercial shade covers are made for easy installation with existing kennels. Take accurate measurements when you shop for a cover, and choose one that fits properly. There's no point in going to the time and trouble of installing a cover that's too small or too big. If you're planning on building a new kennel, buy a complete setup that includes the cover. You may pay more when you buy a separate cover in the future.
When it's raining cats and dogs, your pet needs a place where he or she can be warm and comfortable. Above all, your pet needs to be safe. The money and time spent installing a dog kennel shade cover is certainly worthwhile. After all, nothing is too good for your best friend.
