Good parenting is a matter of time, hard work and patience. It does not only mean having the authority to discipline your child, but you discipline yourself as well to become a good parent that knows his or her child inside and out. Truly, the idea of good parenting translates into being the support of the child. If a good parent practices optimum parenting technique, his or her children would reflect that in all aspects of his or her life. Bad parenting, on the other hand, would render less than the ideal results for the child. Ultimately, the testimony of the success in parenting styles is in the children being raised into that system.

You are the parent therefore you must set boundaries to keep everyone in sync with each other. Tell your child that you will not continue the conversation when he or she starts to raise his or her voice unless he or she relaxes. What you may be able take for granted as a married person will be gone if you're thinking of single parenting. There would be issues like not having time for yourself... in essence your 'self' will become your children. Knowing yourself and your children can make parenting easier. Always keep the communication lines open, especially in a single parent environment, because there may not be another adult that the child can confide in. A lot of people share parenting as an element in life. Each kind of parents has different kinds of parenting skill.
