In the United States the Bachelor of Fine Arts is an undergraduate degree for students who want to learn visual or performing arts. The Bachelor of Fine Arts is usually abbreviated as BFA. Some countries it is called Bachelor of Creative Arts. If you are interested in studying Arts and want to join the Bachelor of Fine Arts College in US then you must check if the college is offering the program that has been accredited by NASAD (National association of Schools of Arts and Design).

This Bachelor of Fine Art is an undergraduate program that requires hard work and dedication in the chosen visual or performing arts. Usually it is a four year course and full time study. The Bachelor of Fine Art course is designed to prepare the student for a job in the arts or as a prerequisite for doing the Masters of fine art degree. The training is rigorous and there are studio time given to students which are labor intensive and time consuming.

As the program of Bachelors of Fine Art requires the studio work and the amount of studio work is such that it might take the student more than the usual four year to complete the program and earn a BFA degree. The career opportunities are many once the student completes the Bachelors of Fine Art degree. The student can work as an art director with production houses, or the student can opt for a career as an artist.

If the student strength is in acting he/she can opt for a career as an actor. Some of the known personalities who hold the BFA degree are actress Kathy Bates and comedian Adam Sandler. The other career paths that a Bachelor of Fine Art student can opt for are as a dancer, student with grace in dancing can really do well as a dancer. The potential of the student is recognized during the BFA program so students usually know which career they can pursue after the completion of BFA.

Some students become singers. Some opt to become stage designers. Students with talent can become musicians. Becoming a television Producers for starters is also another opportunity that a BFA graduate has. If you are ready to go through the grill and love arts then Bachelors of Fine Arts is the program is what you need to do.
