The job scenario of IT market has improved a lot since recession and still is in a phase of steady growth. A lot many big companies are looking for recruitment and expansion programs. As per the statistics, various job search sites are publishing 30 to 40 percent more IT jobs on their websites since six months. This shows that IT industry is on a boom again as the job opportunities have increased.

Companies are not only doing recruitment from campus but also doing recruitment off campus for fresher and experienced all throughout the year. The demand for experienced and skilled software developer and programmers has increased a lot. Apart from software development, demand for system administrators, network professionals, project managers, testers and analyst is also growing. The demand for Java and Dot Net professionals has also shown a tremendous increase now-a-days. There are lot of openings for the post of senior software developers, architects and software testing professionals.

There are certain areas in Software development industry like Blackberry application development where the job prospectus has improved to a great extent. The awareness regarding the career in this industry has also gained popularity. The IT industry scenario is far much better than that in the western nations. For the past few months, there is a considerable increase in the amount of recruitments carried out by big IT companies as well as medium to small development firms. Many new companies involved in SEO and SEM field are also growing at a very rapid pace as thousands of new websites are getting developed.

With the introduction of android platform, the opportunities for android application and game development has introduced new jobs in IT industry.

There is an increase in number of companies coming for campus recruitment for IT students by thirty percent that means there is considerable increase in job opportunities directly from campus. Big names like Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, Oracle has also organized open and close campus recruitments for IT students.

There is, without any doubt, a decent improvement in job opening and opportunity scenario but on the other hand, the salary scenario has not improved. The IT experts are still awaiting for good hikes in salary packages. There may be some improvement in the salary level of an experienced professional but if we consider the entry level, then the salary is not up to the mark. With the rise in IT job market, it is expected that a major growth is on its way in towns like Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and NCR as everyday we can see a new company being set up.

It is also seen that The Government of India has started providing very good job offers in IT sector in banks, administration services and various other departments. So, it can be concluded that it has a very bright upcoming future.
