What to Carry on Your SD Card

Article Written By: stevemckarmik

Add Your Picture If you have an SD card such as a 64GB Compact Flash then there are countless uses for it. You can of course use it in any number of different devices such as cameras, computers, smart phones, PDAs, games consoles and much more. In these cases you will likely have stored on your memory card the kinds of files used by that device.

In other words, if you have a 64GB Compact Flash storage device for your MP3 player, you will probably use it to listen to MP3s and so these are the files it will store. Likewise if you have your SD card for your camera, then you will likely use it to store pictures.

However when you have an SD card of any size in your device, that means that you have with you a convenient place to store the card which in itself is highly useful. You can use a 64GB Compact Flash card to store and carry with you data that you think you could need to work from, to take files away from other computers and devices, and to expand your gadgets when they run out of space.

With something like a 64GB Compact Flash card there is plenty of room to store a few extra files then that can be convenient for these reasons. While you'll want to keep most of the card empty in order to leave room for the devices to use it, you can still store a few useful extra files on it and you will be surprised at how much easier this makes life.

First of all you will want to keep some music files on your card. You don't need to keep tonnes but imagine you are sitting at a friend's computer working while they're out for the day when suddenly you remember that the 64GB Compact Flash card in your camera has 15 tracks on it. This way you can enjoy some of your own music while you relax. Likewise you might want to keep some of your own music on here if you are a composer or a performer yourself.

This way it can act like a demo disk should anyone ask to hear what you do. Similarly for anyone who needs to promote themselves, keeping some material on an SD card can allow them to take advantage of impromptu situations that turn up.

Similarly you would do well to keep a few documents on your flash card. This is a great place to keep anything important such as a list of passwords or contacts and things that you might want to refer to. This way if you ever lose your phone or your journal, you can use your SD card in order to retrieve some of the vital information you need to go about your work.

Similarly then you can place anything onto the card that you might want backed up. For instance if you have just written a master work of a novel then you won't want to lose your only copy. Even 80,000 words of writing won't seem like a drop in the water for the storage capacity of a 64GB Compact Flash card.
