Keep a selection of SD cards in your pocket and you can move onto one after you use up the other.

For manufacturers using a large SDXC card has many advantages too. For instance it helps to keep the cost of the device down. For instance, the manufacturers can offer the device cheaply without the SD card, or charge slightly more with it included giving the consumer more option. Alternatively they can offer several options with differently sized SD cards.

Another benefit of using a 64GB SDCX card for manufacturers is that it allows them to save space in the device. In order to reduce the size of devices manufacturers have to find ways to fit multiple components into the case of their device. A hard drive is a necessary component in any device so by exchanging this for an external SD card they can actually save space in their device and make it smaller (and/or increase the power of the other components).

The fact that it's easier to repair for consumers also makes this preferable for manufacturers as it means they will have fewer items returned due faulty storage – and if they do, all they have to do is send out a new SD card. A big SD card then helps to make devices more versatile, smaller and more powerful.
