64GB Compact Flash for Working on the Move

Article Written By: stevemckarmik

Add Your Picture Being able to work on the move is highly useful for a number of people. If you are a business man or business woman who is often sent on business trips or to meetings then this will be highly useful. For journalists and reporters it's often necessary particularly for travel writers who will likely want to get their ideas down quickly while they're on the move. For the self employed it's often necessary to run a business concern from other places and if your work allows it's also just very nice to get a change of scene from time to time as you work.

If you're lucky enough to work from home then that doesn't necessarily mean you have to work from home – why not travel to another country and work there to sample another culture and another lifestyle. Or why not try sitting in coffee shops and enjoying the hustle and bustle and the people watching while you type or answer e-mails?

However to do all this you need certain systems in place – and something like a 64GB Compact Flash card for instance will greatly facilitate this kind of working.

In order to be able to work on the go, you first and foremost need to be able to use small devices that allow you to edit documents and send e-mails etc. There are plenty of these that have been developed for our constantly 'plugged in' nation, such as netbooks which are small and mobile and allow you to send and receive files on the go as well as giving you everything else you might expect to be able to do with a PC or laptop.

At the same time you can benefit greatly from a smartphone such as a Blackberry. These give you a 24-hour internet connection that does not rely on wireless to work, as well as giving you a way that you can even edit files while standing up on the train (Blackberries are particularly good as they have a full qwerty keyboard for typing on).

Any of these devices can use a 64GB Compact Flash and by using this you can give them huge amounts of storage space and allow yourself to be able to install large files and software such as Microsoft Office to give you full functionality.

What a 64GB Compact Flash will furthermore do though is to enable you to be able to communicate between your devices. Almost all portable items can use a flash card and this means that you can take your card out of one item and insert it into another device. This way then you can transfer the files and can for example edit a file on your netbook, and then send it to a client/colleague/employer using your smartphone.

Alternatively you could take a photo on your camera, edit it on computer and then upload it to a website using a smartphone with FTP software – all thanks to your 64GB Compact Flash.
