You need not have to sit wondering what is going to happen to your possessions or if someone in the workforce has a duplicate key and might steal your stuff. Spare yourself the horror by just buying a new lock. Do not forget to include this in your budget.

* Insurance: It is important to know that while your furniture and other belongings may be covered at home, it is quite probable that they are not covered in storage facilities. You need to inform the insurance company before you move any item insured by them or the contract will not remain valid. However, it is important to be prepared early and call the insurance company for an extension. This might increase the cost and this must find its way into your moving budget. Also, many storage facilities have contacts with insurance companies and can get you a cheaper deal. Do not forget to ask them for one.

* Labor Charges: Well it is preferable to pick up your stuff on your own, however, if you are unable to do so, please be aware of the labor charges and add them to your budget. Many people prepare incomplete budgets and then run into financial and legal hassles. Avoid them by budgeting well for all the possible expenses that you may incur while moving your goods to storage facilities.
