With over seventeen huge exhibitions halls, and over two thousand exhibitors from fifty three nations, EuroShop is a global exhibition and showcas the most recent developments, products, trends and concepts for the retail industry. With the Düsseldorf Messe exhibition hall split into segments which ranged from Concept, Sales and Merchandising, Customer Information Systems, Expo Construction and Design, this retail trade fair covered every plausible aspect of the retail environment.

The largest segment by far were the eight halls specifically attributed to Shop fitting, Store Equipment, Fixtures and Fittings, Design, Lighting and Refrigeration equipment. Within these eight extensive halls it was hard to miss the impact that castors have within the retail industry. Every twist and turn taken amongst these huge exhibition halls saw equipment, displays, fixtures and even refrigeration, all displayed on a variety of point of sale castors and rubber castors.

It seems these unobtrusive components, often missed by visitors to the show, had a big part to play. Several European castors manufacturers were exhibitors at the EuroShop show, demonstrating the importance of castors within the retail environment. From shopping trolley castors, point of sale castors to furniture castors, every type, size and design were on view for the world to see.

Modern shop fitting racks and display concepts all moved effortlessly by being attached to a variety of castors. One of the most popular castors on racks and equipment was the small twin wheel castors. These versatile castors can be attached to any piece of equipment or even mannequins by either a plate fitting or a threaded stem. Twin wheel castors with brakes displayed the castors flexibility within the retail environment. Eye catching exhibitor stands with equipment on castors could be seen throughout the extensive exhibition halls.

Modern European clean designs fitted hand in hand with the modern designer castors. Synthetic castors were a popular choice on a variety of Store design, furniture and shop fitting stands. These synthetics castors are a popular choice as they are the modern equivalent to stainless steel. Synthetic castors are therefore non corrosive and non marking, making them a designers choice in food retailing and catering outlets.

Refrigeration played a huge part at the EuroShop Exhibition with two extensive halls filled with refrigerators and freezers. As most high street stores have cafes on site, this refrigeration display was most impressive. With rubber wheeled castors in either synthetic or stainless steel housings attached to nearly every freezer and fridge, the applications were endless. Side mounted castors were an interesting alternative, and with a range of adjustable feet mean the fridges and freezers were not only level but well supported if on the move.

Low level castors are a popular alternative to mount under fridges. These strong low level castors are not only unobtrusive but can take larger loads than standard castors. With so many exhibitors all under one vast roof the EuroShop exhibition was one not to be missed!
