Take a moment and look around you. How many boxes do you see or know of that is in the room? I bet you can count them on your fingers. You see packaging boxes is such an integral part of our lives that we don't even notice them anymore.

England started this magical revolution in 1817 and the United States commercialized their box in 1895. Unfortunately our forefathers had to contend with heavy wooden and metal boxes to protect their belongings. I can remember how my grand parents pushed and pulled at their heavy wooden boxes and due to this, there wasn't a lot of moving and stacking and repacking done in those days.

Then, along came corrugated paper and of course the packaging industry really took this and mastered packing techniques to its fullest. We have such an array of shapes, sizes and colors to choose from, that packaging has become a fun activity to do. The hunt for that perfect box become a pleasant past time, especially if you have a good packaging company to assist you.

The idea of corrugated products sprung up namely; to enhance durability and hence the corrugated box was born. All of a sudden the mundane looking square or rectangle started taking shape. Interest in this new product sparked off a multitude of new industries around it. Soon the hunt was on to find that perfect hat box or to find that perfect filing box.

Also, correct packaging must be able to encase your objects in such a way that things like bugs, cold and rain would be obviated. A good rule of thumb is: if you are not sure which packaging would suite your precious statue that you inherited from your great grandpa, then always choose the stronger one. This way you would have peace of mind when it is transported or stored.

Say you want to send precious cargo abroad, then it would be crucial to know if the product you chose is insect resistant, protected against adverse weather and tamper-proof. Always follow your instincts when it comes to your possessions. Rather choose the strongest packaging because it would give you satisfaction to know that your object arrived safe and sound on the other side.

But, finding that special box needs some investigative skills, so you are going to be asked a few very important questions. You might be prompted to give details like:

-will your items in the package need protection from heat, shock or vibration

-for perishables, what type of packaging can be provided to stop decay

-would you like optimal efficiency when you group your objects together in one package

-do you need communication to the end user on your packaging

-do you require your packaging to have particular security measures

-would you need to re-pack your products into smaller units

-is it vital that your packaging be easy to open, pack or store

Gone are the days when you can just grab an old second-hand box to pack your items. Packaging boxes have become an art form and what a nice way to express yourself, by using well sourced boxes.
