So if you do not want to experience this loss, then choose well when in comes to picking a rental truck to transport your belongings.

Would you put your life's treasure in the hands of just some rental truck you found advertised along the sidewalk? You shouldn't. These are people that you don't know and the chance of having them stolen or undelivered to your location is very, very high. So the best thing for you to do is to pick a reputable company that has been tested by fellow movers to deliver their stuff at the said date and without any delays.

Another thing you need to know is that moving companies have two types of deliveries. There are some who deliver straight to the location while there are also some who have drop off locations where their clients can pick up their boxes after arrival. If this is the case, then you need to make sure that the pick-up location is not very far from your new home. If not, then you need to arrange another way of getting your box from their drop-off area to your place. And one more thing, rental trucks have a limit in terms of the distance covered by the transport. And once your delivery goes over that distance limit, an additional charge per mile will be added to the set rate. So to avoid unexpected charges, it would be safer to get an estimate on the distance it will take to travel your belongings from point A to point B. And if you do get an excess to that limit, then be sure to know the exact additional charges so that you won?t be caught off guard.

And just to be on the safe side, it would be highly recommended to avail of insurance- if the moving company offers then. This is because you?ll never know what happens when you are on the road. It would be a good move to have your belongings covered in case they are lost or damaged. But be sensible about the insurance as well, if the distance is not too far, then you can just forgo the added cost.
