When it comes to other items, while a box may not exist that will work, there are times you can create a box that will work. When moving or shipping large paintings and mirrors, or panels of glass, careful construction of a crate will enable you to move it without having to worry too much about breaking it. As long as the crate is constructed well, especially if the crate is built around the item being moved, then padded well as the crate is completed, even the most fragile of items can be transported safely without having to be concerned about breakage during transit.

Good moving companies are prepared to build crates for moving delicate items. The key points in time are moving the item out of its existing location and placing it in its new one. During transit is usually the safest time for an object being moved, but going in and out of places usually relies on human movers. That's where the problems can come into play.

But using a reputable moving company will also mean they've got great insurance coverage. That way, even if the item gets broken during shipping, they'll take care of replacing it or having it fixed.
