On an average day, the site YouTube gets millions of unique visitors all looking for various types of videos. While some just go for entertainment, many others go for a learning experience. They are looking for information and tutorials that will help them accomplish something. Many of these people actually look at the full description for a video and a large portion will follow any relevant links if they are enticed enough.

Back in the days when the Google first started their advertising program, marketers used to bid for the keywords of the product they were promoting and they made a lot of money in the process. Of course trademark keywords are a thing of the past, but that does not mean you cannot do it. Think about promoting a particular product. Create a video and upload it to a video site like YouTube. In the full description, add some information about the product and its use, and then add either a direct affiliate link or even a link to your website.

You would be amazed when you realize that video marketing does work. Think about it, the average person will read maybe 400 words of a website and then leave if they are not satisfied. However, in a short 2 minute long tutorial video, you can supply them with more information then they would every spend reading on multiple pages of your website.

So if you want to talk about generating traffic, there are many different forms of doing so. But if you want nothing but the most targeted traffic possible, then give video marketing a try. While some products and services may not be able to use the videos directly for marketing, there are other ways of utilizing video marketing for your advantage. Of course you will never get as much traffic as the organic search engines would give you, but it is highly targeted and anyone following the link you add is ready to make a purchase. Do yourself and your income a favor and never second guess the importance of video marketing for any website. You will definitely be glad that you started using this technique when you see your turn-around rate increase drastically.
