Aerosol Canning Industry: It’s Past and Great Promises for the Future

For many of us, aerosol cans are part of our daily life. We use them as containers for products that we use for our home and also for ourselves. Some of these common products that we have are insect repellents, hair sprays, shaving mousse and spray paints. With these products and aerosol canning, many things are made possible and many of our work have been made easier. They are simple items in our house that has a colorful past with its great popularity for decades. After years of development, the future looks bright for aerosol products and other industries attached to it.
French confectioners who wanted to bubbles in a soda pop bottle first developed modern aerosol canning. What they did were self-pressurized carbonated beverages intended to give a new experience to their customers at that time. This beginning may be very simple and intended for a simple purpose but aerosol technology of today has now gone far beyond. The height of this industry was during the 1950andrsquo;s to the 1970andrsquo;s when it was then used as hair sprays and household items. Aerosols were a must have during those decades. It was also as if they were status symbols for many households back then. It was not always smoothing sailing for these products and this industry. The business of aerosol technology experienced problems when aerosols gained a stigma years ago. CFC, the chemical used as a propellant was found out to have serious environmental damages. Scientists found out that this chemical depletes the Ozone layer. Immediately, aerosol products were banned in the market with the initiative of the government.
After years of experimentations and researches, the aerosol canning industry together with aerosol products have been given a new life when they developed new ways and found alternative chemicals that are not harmful to the environment. Aside from the new chemicals that were used as propellants which are not hazardous for the environment, manufacturers also developed aerosol containers that uses air pressure made by hand-operated pumps. With this, there is no need for a propellant.
The business of aerosol canning has been a strong industry for many years and is expected to grow bigger because of its demand in the market. With its compact form and the need of many products to have a certain form when dispensed, the aerosol can is the best choice as a container. After many years of being in the market, can manufacturers has grown more serious. Packaging technology for the can, the valve and materials for each component of the can have been given careful thinking. After all that the industry has been through, they are now very careful with the choices they make regarding the products they offer. All they want is to guarantee quality so there is no need for the public to worry about being guilty of harming the environment. CFC is a big no for the aerosol canning industry and they have this policy for decades.
