Water Tanks a Compulsion in Australia
Australia is the driest continent in the world, which is a natural setback that has to be borne by every person residing in this continent. The government is also concerned about preserving water as it has become very clear that conservation of water is the only way left to sustain life otherwise a time will come when a single drop of water will not be available for drinking or for any other necessity. The Australian government has therefore taken a decision that all the house owners in the country will build water tanks in the houses and conserve water by storing the rainwater and by stopping the wastage of water. To encourage the house owners for building water tanks the government has announced that it will provide discount for building the water tanks and the percentage of the discount will depend on the size of the tanks. In the past requirement of water, tanks were only in the rural area but due to the increase in population in the urban areas, it has now become a compulsion that every house in the urban area should have a water tank for preserving water.
The government in view of the constant droughts took this decision as a precautionary measure for overcoming any type of water crisis that might arise in the future. Therefore, every house should build a rainwater tank and collect the rainwater, which they can easily use for different purposes like watering the garden, washing the car and the clothes, or flushing the toilet and for any other type of external utility where pure water is not required. This way the consumption of pure drinking water will reduce. The requirement for pure water will only be for cooking and drinking thus saving money in the present and pure water for the future generation. Many types of water tanks are available on the market and an individual can choose the type and size of the water tank according to his personal needs. People do not use concrete water tanks in urban areas but there are water tanks made of various other materials, which are not only durable but require less amount of maintenance than the concrete water tanks.
The manufacturer of water tanks have come up with novel ideas of installing water tanks in the house, which will solve dual purpose that is the storage of water along with maintaining the beautiful look of the house. The most widely used water tanks in Australian homes are bladder tanks built under the house or underground to serve the purpose of storing water. Nowadays the most popular water tanks used by the people in Australia are the tanks made of plastic known as poly tanks as these tanks are not only durable but they blend very well with the coloring of the house as these tanks are available in different colors. For those people who do not have much space in the house a new type of water tank is available known as the slim line tank that can easily store nearly 1100 to 3300 gallons of water which is enough for using in all purposes except cooking and drinking, by the whole family.
