Hence the engineersandrsquo; judgments are always trusted and treated with high respect. Seldom can one see an engineer that is not being trusted by an ordinary citizen.

Engineering has been one of the pillars of society. Historically, the profession has played a vital role in the establishment of society. Since the earliest human civilization has existed, engineers have been a major driver in the development of society. This can be identified through the various monumental works done by the earliest engineers. From simple working machines such as pulleys and levers, the tools created by engineers greatly contributed in the advancement of technology and science.

From the ancient times, engineering has been one of the motivating force in the establishment of civilization. From the time the human specie learned how to use, create and invent tools, humans developed a system of living that greatly departed from its purely animal instincts and behavior. Such tools and equipment accelerated the human intelligence and hence the creation of the civilized society. Ever since then, a rapid expansion in the knowledge of humans about using tools has occurred.

In the middle ages, the importance of engineers in society became even more pronounced. An Iraqi engineer named al-Jazariandrsquo;s invention of a machine that was used to pump water in the palaces of kings and emperors provided the fundamental knowledge and basic instructions in the creation of the current modern machines. The mechanics of the old machine still proves very useful for the present engineers.andnbsp; It can even be said that engineering has been the major driving force of the industrial revolution. During this era, rapid advancement in the field has been created and accelerated the development of societies. Discoveries and inventions ranging from mechanical devices to the application of complex programs and designs on aeronautics and aerospace has been achieved. The discoveries made by engineers also encompass up to the field of chemical and electrical innovations.

Countless numbers of contributions has already been done by the engineers in society. Although they are only a small portion of the population, engineers can be said to be responsible for the creation of almost half of the countryandrsquo;s wealth and gross domestic product. These professional individuals, as a group, almost single-handedly made possible the creation of the nationandrsquo;s wealth. So much can be attributed to the engineers in our society.

Truly, engineering has a great contribution to society. Without this area of discipline, the world we live in today might have been different. The buildings and houses that we live in, the roads that we travel on, the bridges that crosses us to places and lots of other important infrastructural constructions are definitely impossible to build without the engineers. Thus the engineers deserve to be given due respect by society, which in fact they are currently enjoying.
