A meeting in an Art Gallery: Good for Marketing.

It was an obvious place to meet if we were characters in an art house film. Maybe a classical library, or a museum of architecture, would have sufficed for the purposes of ambience. But this was marketing. Cynical it may seem, but just because our work is all about sales, or more specifically, selling a product, it doesn't mean we don't personally appreciate the objects we use in our work. We do, we're people selling to people, so we must engage on that level for our projects to be successful.

Our client usually used an in house team for their marketing work. But due to the nature of this project, our account needed someone from outside. They called a week before, and suggested the location. I liked the idea and wondered whether this had any bearing on the project, or was simply some kind of new cool place to for clients to meet project managers.

It was raining heavily on the way. In the summer warmth the humidity created a sweet, fresh scent off the parks that lined the way to the art gallery. I was hungry, for food and information. In the previous days I had been looking at Marketing Jobs online, as my work had taken a turn for the more mundane. And in marketing you need spark, zest, in order to stay on top of your game.

As I expected the cafe was quaintly and elegantly decorated, lots of wrought iron, glass tables and polished floors. The client had just seated. I ordered tea and cake and the conversation began.

When it ended I was even keener to look online for a new marketing job. It was encouraging to see what more I could do. The job was fantastic, but unless they offered me a job in house then seriously considered that after this project, I had to move on.

But move on where? And move on to what exactly? I had an idea what, though probably no idea where. I suppose the where depended on the what. And the what was where? Oh yeah. On the marketing jobs web site.

andlsquo;I shall sit down,' I thought to myself. And type in those easy to fill forms, my name, address and job preference, upload my CV, and here you go, a shiny new job in marketing.

It wasn't that easy of course. But it wasn't that difficult either. It's like walking through a door, registering on one of these online job sites. At least one of the web sites that truly functions as you would expect it to.

It's a question of w, if not all, is simply uploaded from your computer. The great thing about searching online for a marketing job is that you tend to save money on things like stamps.ill, and the ability to then focus on finding a way. The project came and went.
