-- How to buy a used car

At one point or another everybody has to buy a used car. when buying a used car people can be quiet easily deceived by a seller. So here is a list of typical things that you would want to check before you buy your next used car.

1.Research about the car make and the model that you are interested in buying, make sure that it satisfies your requirements and practicality, for example you wouldn’t want a 3 liter V10 engine if you are mostly commuting on the city traffic. So doing your research can really help you make a good choice so that you wouldn’t end up changing your car again a few months after the purchase.

2.Check the market value of the car that you are buying, some private sellers may try to rip you off your money If you have not done your research for the pricing of the make and the model that you are planning to buy, make a few calls to some of your local car dealers and check the prices of similar models, to get a better understanding of the price, so that you can bargain with the sellers better.

3. if you have your eyes set upon a car and you really want to buy it don’t hasten, do a vehicle data check before you pay the cash, the car may look good from the exterior, but it could have been in an accident, so make sure that you do a data check before following through, chances are the few quid’s that you spend here would certainly help you save a lot in case if the car has had any serious issues in the past.

4.Doing a thorough physical check is quite important, and remember not to do it after dark because the flaws, dents and scratches on the body will not be visible as much they would be visible during the day time in sunlight. Sellers might dress up the vehicle and make it appear presentable so be sure to look under carpets for signs of erosion and other damages, and look under the bonnet for to see the condition of the engine as well.

5. Never buy a used car without going out on a test drive, this would reveal the actual condition of the engine, breaks, gearbox, steering etc. so doing a proper test drive is a vital part of the purchasing process.

6. Make sure that the documents of the vehicle are readily available. And read them to see if there are any problems related to tax payments etc. before you finalize the transaction.

7. Finally you make the payment for the car that you have chosen, make sure that you receive a signed / dated receipt acknowledging that you have purchased the used car for the stipulated amount
