-- Get Better Gas Mileage From Your Car
I doubt there is anybody out there who has not noticed that the price of gas has rocketed up in recent months. We have seen the price of gas rising steadily over the last few years and now we are all finding gas is emptying our wallets. People are wanting to spend less money on gas and the only way they can see to do that is to stop using their cars.
Is there anything that we can do about this? That is the question everybody wants answered so I will try to answer that here. We cannot change the price of oil. Maybe the politicians can do something but for now we are on our own. There are ways to use less gas in the way we drive and the type of vehicles we drive or we can make our own cars and trucks run further on what gas we have.
Stop using your car! It may sound a bit dramatic but it is the best way to save gas, if it is a little inconvenient. So we must accept that for most of us that is not possible but we can use our cars less often. By combining several shopping trips into one you will save a lot on gas and if you were to take turns driving, going shopping with your neighbors you could save a lot of gas that way too.
There are ways of driving that use less gas. If you tend to drive with your foot pressed hard on the accelerator or hard on the brakes you are wasting fuel and to get the best gas mileage you should learn how to drive in a more gentle fashion. Planning ahead is the secret to this and if you see the traffic slowing ahead of you start easing off the throttle and then brake gently. Ideally you can plan ahead so well you will need to stop less often and since most gas is used accelerating you could save quite a lot of gas this way.
We could all go out and buy more efficient and economical cars. These smaller cars have been designed to use less gas and if you are changing your car anyway you should consider these more economical vehicles. Most of us are stuck with the car we already have so all we can do about this is to get the best miles per gallon out of the car we have. Regular sevicing will help your car run at its best and you might also think about adding energy efficient gas saving devices to your car.
These gas saving devices have been mocked over the years. Car companies and the oil industry have been quick to dismiss them. The trouble is that these organizations have a vested interest and the oil companies wanted us to use more gas while the car companies didn't want to look like they were not bothered about our cars fuel consumption.
There may be some devices that made no sense back in the day when oil and gas was cheap but now gas is so expensive they may make a lot more sense. Just a saving of a mile or two per gallon would be a very valuable saving in gas costs for many people.
We have all heard talk of the future economy being based on Hydrogen. It is probably a few years away yet. It will take time to devlop the infrastructure and the supply sysems to get hydrogen to every gas station and hydrogen cars will be a while coming too. In the meantime there are a lot of people who have developed their own hydrogen systems to use on their cars and save on gas.
You may think you need to be a rocket scientist to develop a hydrogen generator for your car but it a simple process. So simple you can buy a guide online, buy all the parts locally and put the system together in just a weekend. It takes an hour or two tops to fit the system to your car and you have your hydrogen generator helping to reduce your gas usage.
